People Counter for Venues and Events

Running a door means answering two questions all night: how many people are inside right now, and how many have come through in total. The attendance counter answers both from any phone or tablet — no app, no sign-up, and the count never leaves your device.

Count in and out, not just in

Switch the counter to "In and out" mode and you get two big buttons: IN when someone enters, OUT when someone leaves. The display shows inside now in large type, with total entries and exits underneath, so you keep both the occupancy figure and the attendance figure. A one-way tally that subtracts people on the way out loses the second one.

Keep an eye on venue capacity

Enter your venue’s capacity and the count turns amber at 90% and red at 100%, with the number of spaces left. You can add a beep or a vibration as it crosses each line, which helps when your eyes are on the queue. The counter shows the limit but never stops you counting past it: the decision at the door stays yours. The capacity figure itself comes from your venue licence, fire safety assessment or building owner. The counter helps you keep to it; it can’t tell you what it is.

See when the room filled up

Every tap is logged with its time, on your device. Open the timeline to see how many were inside through the night, with the peak marked, and how many arrived in each 15 minutes. Download the log as a CSV for a spreadsheet, or copy the end-of-night summary — total entries, exits, peak occupancy and when it was — into a message for the venue manager or promoter.

Split the count by ticket type

Add categories such as Ticket, Guest list, Staff and Comp. Each gets its own button and its own total, so the door count can be checked against the box office at the end of the night.

Built for a door, not a desk

Door view fills the screen with the count and one big IN button where your thumb rests. Night mode switches to black, white and yellow for a dark room. The screen is kept awake while the counter is open. A Bluetooth presentation clicker or page-turner works as a hand-held counter: forward counts someone in, back counts someone out.

More than one door?

Each device keeps its own count — the counter doesn’t sync between devices — so give each door its own phone and add the door totals together at the end of the night.
